    MÖLKKY (Finnish Lawn Game)

Today we are posting about the game Mölkky (a Finnish Lawn Game) that we made out of an old tree. If you follow our posts, you may have seen the amazing corn hole game my son’s father-in-law so thoughtfully made for us. We are so grateful, and knowing that he really enjoys corn hole, we wanted to create an outdoor game for him in return. At first, we were going to make a set of “Giant Jenga Blocks” but Sarah (his daughter) said they already have a Jenga game. While searching for a game we could make, I ran across Mölkky and thought it sounded perfect! Mölkky is a Finnish…

    Giant Lawn Dice Game

Today’s post is about our giant lawn dice game we made ourselves. The set in our video is a bit sentimental to me because it was among our very first DIY wood projects. It is also sentimental because we made it for Tori and Javi’s wedding. Please excuse all the imperfections you may notice in the spacing of the dots on the dice. This project would have been amazingly simple if we owned a drill press, #GOALS! We made our dice from a 4×4 post. Supplies & Tools Saw Electric drill 1/2 inch drill bit Sander Black paint 4×4 post 4×4 posts actually only measure 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″.…

    DIY Pizza Pan Rack

Today is about the DIY pizza pan rack we created out of scraps of wood we found in our workshop. Years ago, my kids bought me a small wood fire pizza oven that makes the pizza taste amazing!! We were hosting a surprise birthday party for my daughter-in-law, Janae and decided we would make “build your own” pizzas. We really wanted to host a “build your own style” party but space was a big issue. I had to fit 10 pans of pizza dough, toppings, sauces, and cheeses all on my counter. I searched around the internet before the party to see if I could purchase a small pizza pan…

    DIY Cement Table Top

Today’s post is about our DIY cement table top project. In a previous post, we revealed our kitchen table transformation of a table we got free off of craigslist. This is the transformation of our very, VERY old kitchen table. There is not enough room inside our house to use the old table. Our grown kids liked the table because all eight of us fit around it. The table is very ugly but it is also very sturdy. We decided it would be a fun project to transform it into an outdoor table. The table is made of wood and I knew just one winter would destroy the table as…

We created two 24″ long stands instead of one 4 foot…

Layered Crepe Cake -Fourth of July Themed

Today’s post we are featuring a Fourth of July themed layered crepe cake. I would describe this cake as fresh, light and just the right amount of sweetness. To make the crepes we used a vintage Sunbeam electric M’sieur Crepe Maker. You can still find them places like Etsy, Offer-Up, eBay or Craigslist. “Cucina” makes a crepe maker that work identically to the one we used and you can purchase it here on Amazon. These electric crepe makers make the crepe making process super simple. you simply dip the pan in the batter and the heated pan cooks the crepe. It slides off the non-stick pan with ease. Click the…
